#Talk Money Week!

I’m not a financial advisor – following my example with money would be stupid!

We did cash is king, and I’ve blogged about Crypto briefly. This week is “Talk money week”.

Money’s something I’ve never been able to keep hold of, so it’s often a little niggle at the back of my mind! Love it or hate it, it’s a part of every day life, every time you switch a light on or leave the house pretty much! So I’ll try to keep any emotion out of this! Here’s where I stand as a small business owner

Debt

Debt is something I feel strongly about – I’ve been in a fair bit in the past – additcted to buying books at uni, various vehicles and parts or upgrades for them… with the promise of 0% finance on credit cards debt is easy to get into, not to get out of! Call me old fashioned, but I try not to spend money I haven’t got now, just because I sleep a little easier! (Until I’m overdrawn at the end of the month!

As a small business owner I’d rather not be the reason people get into debt. Yes there’s a “pay later facility” on my checkout – that’s not by choice, it’s something PayPal have insisted on for a while. Click if you wish – I’m assuming you’re an adult, but don’t blame me for your sleepless nights if you do!

Handy hint here – for comissions I take 50% of the quote up front – the rest before I post / on delivery – that’s a non-debt way to split your payments!

Payment

As a person I prefer cash. It’s easier to keep track of as it’s flowing out of your hands – you can see it disappearing! As a business I prefer cash – again, it’s easier to keep track of, and I don’t have to give a % of my hard work to the bank. Also, there’s not always phone signal or electric hookups available at events

For many reasons I’m also an investor in crypto. (Yes I have saved a tiny amount for the first time in my life, and got a tattoo to celebrate being able to change a lifelong habbit!) So whether or not there’s a crypto option at the checkout, you can always ping me an email letting me know what you want and what cryptocurrency you want to use, and we can go from there.

Obviously being in the South West I can’t always accept physical payment, and not everyone uses crypto, so I will accept paypal (available at the checkout in the shop)
