I’m a sole trader in the UK operating under the name Ravn Leather.

This website has been built using wordpress with plugins that use cookies (please see privacy policy). Please feel free to turn off if you don’t want it tracking you. I will probably have also installed a(?) Facebook pixel – I’ll be using that and Google analytics for my own marketing purposes, but as I said – please feel free to turn off unnecessary cookies – your privacy is yours to control. (Thoroughly recommend using a browser such as Brave which will turn off all spy bots and let you access Web 3 sites!)
Custom work
As a small business and sole trader we have to pay for materials up front. Upon negotiation, and depending on time requirements and the complexity of work we will produce a quote and proforma invoice. We need a 50% deposit upon accepting the quote, and the balance prior to delivery.
Ravn Leather Price Promise!
The final invoice will be reviewed in light of actual hours taken, so that you aren’t overcharged in case of non-standard patterns. If I undrestimate my time, that’s my fault! We promise the price quoted is the maximum price we will charge. No hidden extras or “It ran over so…”
The exception to this would be if the customer has requested more work or more pricey materials after the quote has been accepted. This will be discussed as and when requests arise and changes in price be made possible.
Returns and refunds
Please check your item prior to first use and contact us immediately should you find it faulty.
We make every effort to ensure that each item is of good quality and robustly made. Every product is made by hand, so there are many quality checks. If a product does fail in the normal course of use (see Terms and Conditions), we will endeavour to repair or replace it.
Repairs due to wear and tear or other damage or worn parts will be quoted for and charged.
Customised and personalised orders cannot be returned or cancelled once work has started. We will be as accommodating as possible (one of us is human!) but cancellation of, or last minute changes to custom and personalised leather have cost me a lot in the past, and I don’t have huge profit margins to play with! Please ensure dates and spellings of names etc are correct before ordering!
Leather is a natural product and as such is subject to “flaws” eg. scars, and variation in colour. Just as everyone’s skin tans differently, and hair takes dye differently so does leather. See our blog here for more on this. This is the nature of the product. This is part of what makes each item unique. Large scars, obviously are avoided (or used as a feature), but products will not be refunded because colours are not exactly as in the photograph or have natural marks.
Colours may vary slightly from those in the pictures. Partly because of the reasons above, partly because some photos are of older stock and some are freshly died or even still wet when they were photographed! Yes I need to be more patient! See here for more on colour variation and how leather ages.
Ravn repairs are carried out at the customers risk. Many treasured nostalgic leather items can be given a new lease of life or repaired, but even if well looked after, it will eventually deteriorate with use. I will do my best to treat your items with care, but I have come across some items that are beyond repair. This will be discussed with you at every step.
Terms of Use
Browse this website and take my advice at your own risk haha! But seriously, we’ve covered what we use your information for in our privacy policy. Any ramblings in my blog are not to be taken as advice. I’m not fit to offer financial or dietry advice, or any advice about life! It’s purely anecdotal observations and my theories about life – always do your own research! Stay in my blog for a little while but don’t stay too long – it’s crazy making!
Our leather products are all made for specific purposes. We’re all for innovation and ingenuity, but if you use our belt pouch as a slipper it won’t last. Don’t expect us to replace it!
Please check fixtures and fittings regularly and before first use, particularly on dog collars. Whilst we check every item for quality many times, wear and tear may degrade stitching, cleaning chemicals corrode.
