Seriously, I can’t sell for toffee – ask the Cornish Times…!
But I am in love with this product ! I saw benefit number one when my Besastie tried one on – instantly more confident! And having thought it through I can’t imagine that it won’t tick the other two boxes below. This was requested by an XL dog breeder / Service Dog Trainer whose current dog was fit! (You know, BCS (Before C* Sun*k) in the good old days when we had freedom)
I really can’t wait to get started on production so I can have one for myself!
This is not our usual product, as it’s not made of leather – to keep costs down, we’re working with nylon webbing for this one. I was approached by someone who would like one of these and as soon as I heard that the item existed I knew we needed to have one in our lives!
What is it?
It’s a harness for a dog, with removable weights.
Spec as below:
- 2″ sturdy webbing straps
- 2″ nickel plated buckles
- 2 x 2″ nickel plated D rings
- 10 x 1.5″ strong elasticated pockets
- 10 x 310g weights INCLUDED
Challenge: try and find these at a reasonable price elseewhere over here with weights included!

What is it for?
Expends energy quickly,
improves behaviour,
builds muscle
Does your dog have lots of energy or get easily distracted in training? (I’m sure mine could do 10x the exercise I’m capable of giving her and she’s always better behaved when some of that energy is gone – just like a child!
When your dog is exercising in the weighted dog harness, it effectively adds 3 kg weight for your dog to carry around – I know I get tired when I’m lugging extra weight around! I believe there are human equivalents to the weighted dog harness available, in the form of ankle and arm weights.
Exercising your dog in this harness is just like you walking up hill with a ruck sack full of rocks!
Calms your anxious dog
Just like a weighted blanket can help to calm some anxious children, and help them become more confident, this harness works the same way.
I saw the results for myself, just wish I had it on video – my Guen’s not the most confident of beasties, but her whole stature changed when she had this on for the first time!
Warning
Please don’t use without advice from a vet, trainer or knowledgeable other person!
Just like with weight training (I know from uncomfortable experience) this should be eased into. Your dog can’t tell you “Not today I’ve pulled a muscle in my shoulder and it’s still sore”. Also, if your beast is anything like mine, they have a dangerously high pain threshold – 1 day post op or dripping blood and it’s still “We play now mum?” Build up the time your dog spends in the weighted harness slowly.
The weighted harness should not be used with puppies.

How can I get a weighted harness?
You may have noticed these aren’t in the shop yet and the photos aren’t webbing! My own projects are legion so we’re still on the tatty mock up!
So this one we deal with like a custom order: simply contact us telling us you would like one!
A £100 deposit will secure your weighted harness. There may be a wait for a few weeks whilst the weights arrive, but I’ll keep you updated.
An invoice for a further £90 will be payable one week prior to delivery.
