Leather is a luxury item – it costs a lot. Cash (or crypto) isn’t easy to come by. So why should you spend your hard earned income on leather? Here’s 5 years why leather is the best investment to pamper your pet with!
#1 Leather is a hard wearing material
Pampered pets don’t necessarily mean hard working, these dogs are! She’s regularly in hedges and sliding along the muddy ground after flying logs!
But if looked after, a leather collar will last your dog many years and won’t degrade like a nylon collar. Better still, the oils in your dogs skin will feed the leather and help keep the collar supple!

#2 Leather doesn’t stink!
Leather doesn’t stink! Ok that’s a total lie! But leather has it’s own smell (see our FAQs)! So why not pamper your pet with lush smelling leather?
Whilst it will soak up the oils from your dogs skin, this helps to nourish it, and as long as you give it a clean with a damp cloth every now and then it won’t collect the dirt. The weave of a nylon collar is the perfect place fore dirt and grime to collect. It’s the bacteria that thrives there that stinks!
With a grab handle, our collars should minimize incidents like rolling in mud and fox scatt, but if you’re not quick enough, a quick clean will do! (See above)
#3 Leather for your pet is sustainable!
Leather is a natural product, and our leather is veg tanned – it doesn’t use lots of nasty chemicals that are bad for the enviromnemnt. Eventually, after many many years of hard service (I have replaced belts from WW1!) it will rot eventually, but as it’s essentially just naturally tanned skin, it won’t harm the environment like plastic based alternatives – it will feed the ground instead!
In addition to that, any of our mail order products come beautifully gift wrapped in sustainable, natural materials (see picture). Go on – why not treat yourself and your best friend!
#4 Our leather collars will grow with your pet
Our standard leather dog collars are adjustable either way by a couple of inches – we can add extra length on request if you have a growing Beast!
Our Combat collars** come with 38mm tri sliders and are adjustable from 19.5″ to 26″. – longer lengths can be done on request. And because we make these by hand, however big your XL beast, we can do it! See Ravn’s Menagerie for how to measure your dog collar.
Beastie’s had the same collar since I got her at 8 months old – there’s quite a size difference! She can no longer fit all 4 on the window ledge – shoulders are far too wide – but the collar still fits!

You love your pet – if you have a big beastie like me, chances are you paid a small fortune for them, but money aside – you love your pet more than any human! We’d all choose our pet over our partner, I’m sure! Your dog is your constant faithful companion and best friend. They’re always happy to see you. Don’t they deserve dressing up in a bit of luxury?! Your pet absolutely deserves to be pampered with leather!

Also -if your dog does a lot of sea swimming, a leather collar is NOT best – buy yourself a cheap nasty throw away webbing one – leather will last about as long in the sea! (See I can’t sell you a lie! #AuDHD!)
