Anyways – why a blog? Because I like to write, and because it will keep me coming back here to keep the content of my website fresh. I only went live with this site on 01/04/23 amazing how many things I’ve found to fix and update in just 3 months! I guess I’ve been more productive than I gave myself credit for!
What’s new since April 2023?
I did my first (and second) LARP
with Forest Argent – they’re an awesome bunch of people – Fae – Trolls and other things you might never have imagined. I made the first bits to my armour for that – honestly I really have been wanting a reason to make some armour For Ever! I’ve had to adjust my costume for summer heat – bike leathers are no good running for running around in a field in summer! Also, as aesthetically pleasing as my arm guards were, they weren’t comfortable – I’ve adjusted the pattern and the one or two I made prior to my first event. Also not sure the gauntlets will allow me to actually use a sword – the stuff needs to be wearable and useable all day every day, so watch this space and I’ll update the Ravn Cosplay page as I go along.
We went to Plymouth Pirate weekend
Beastie really looked the part and I got stopped every 5 minutes for “can I stroke your dog – can I take a picture of your dog” – I got to give out a few cards to dog people, so if you’re reading this becase I gave you a card – thank you so much for following up!
We had great Greek food from a great booth, spent the night on Dartmoor and broke my favourite boots – Thank you D Smith & Sons, Liskeard for a fantastic repair at a more than reasonable price – they’ll live on longer than me now I reckon!
I’ve been contacted by a Bully Breeder & trainer to develop a weighted dog harness.
I tried his original on Guen and she instantly stood more confidently (even though there was a stranger and a dog in her space). It will add 3 kg to her exercise for up to a couple of hours a day (I’ll work her up to it – since I’ve just started training myself and know what it feels like)!
I’ve ordered some of the parts and would like to crowdfund the first run so I’m not out of pocket until I’ve sold enough! To help it along I’ve created a couple of adverts – long one here – the other on my YouTube channel.

Part of my longer term plan is to maybe not waste some of my teaching skills and develop an online course. I’ll be offering workshops here at Ravn Workshops as soon as I’ve sorted that page out (so yes I guess I’m procrastinating here now!) but if I can do videos then I work smarter and can do it from a distance. Also – Affiliate’s – could be a tiny additional income stream if I can get 1000 follows – big ask, since I can’t seem to get 100 on my FB or Insta!
Well – I think that’s it – time to go finish dismantling and respraying the bed, since today is supposed to be a day off! Back soon!
