Wading through treacle!

I guess another reason to blog is to remind myself that I am actually making progress!

It’s slow going, restarting your own business, if you’re me – and impatient! It’s only been a couple of weeks, not even that, but I’ve had a few wobbly health days and it’s really felt like I’m doing nothing fast and getting nowhere!  So it’s been good to look through my photos since the last blog and realise that I have been doing more than I think!

Something I’d been avoiding… getting the boot-maker’s sewing machine going.  A few hours messing with tensions and she’s working (photo from my Social Media)

Kinda excited about this one – I’ve had a few companies who have insulted me by suggesting I’d be a good fit for their products but this one I like – I have some jewelery coming from Luxy Goth– watch this space!  Click the link << for a 10% discount.

Tankard holders are on the way – I’ve tested one with my own fragile tankard – works well, so I’ve cut, punched, edged and burnished a few in different colours.

Butterfly mask – with Goblin Town now only a few months away, (Go book your tickets now!!!)  and having had the idea whilst making the boot wings below, I’ve made the first one!

it’s now molded and mostly painted – still needs a final coat or two, lining, and a few extras I have uop my sleeve before it’s finished, but I reckon it might be done by the end of this weekend – been working on this one in my own time – feels like a guilty pleasure because it’s not an order or a ‘must’!

I’ll do a few more simple ones, since this one will be particularly time consuming (therefore costly!)  And maybe bring the wings in a little, for future versions of this one, but I’m liking it so far!  Again – look out for this coming to a webshop near you soon!

At last I’ve started on the first weighted dog harness.  I’d finished the mockup a little while ago, costed the project so I knew how much I will be sunk for if I don’t sell enough, and with a loan and a little back and forth with suppliers, I’ve finally done it.  Needed to get the big old sewing machine working, too, so no excuses now!

I guess this means it’s not crowdfunded anymore – it’s loan-funded!  But I’ll honour the discount for the 3 preorders I’ve got, and I might extend it until August – I just can’t get the exposure with my tiny little social media accounts!

I’m expecting the elastic in the next couple of days, and want to have a look at some strap keepers, but then I can post “for real” photos, instead of mock ups, and just maybe I’ll sell a few!
